What to Expect at Auditions

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YTOB AUDITIONS

Auditioning for a show can be nerve-racking for anyone.

At YToB, we want you to have FUN more than anything!

Here are some tips to make sure that your audition goes smoothly!

WHERE TO BEGIN

Download the audition packet and read it carefully.
Complete all information in the packet especially noting the tenative rehearsal schedule.
Most of your questions will be answered in this packet.

THE AUDITION PROCESS

No prepared pieces are required.
Your audition will consist of songs cut from the show along with a movement audition with our choreographer.
You will also do a cold reading from the script within your assigned audition group.
Songs and choreography will be taught at the audition.
Dress comfortably and appropriately!

FAQs

What if I want a certain role? Can I just audition for that?

You can let the audition panel know that you're interested in a particular part. However, it is up to the directors to cast folks as they see fit.

I need to change my audition time. What do I do?

Please reply to your audition confirmation email and a YToB staff member will help you.

I want to audition, but already have commitments on the auditions dates. What do I do?

Please contact YToB and let us know of your interest. We will go from there.
